Another good day for the Relics teams in the Tri-Team Tournament.
At the start of the day the Relics Blues were top of the table, 3 points ahead of the Relics Whites.
The games were played in a good spirit as usual, but this was spoiled in the Maccabi A v Salcom A game where two players were sent off (one from each team) for aggressive behaviour. This sort of behaviour is not welcome at any level of football, and certainly not something that this tournament is about.
Both the Relics teams Blues and Whites were unbeaten in their two games on the day.
The Whites won both their games and the Blues won one and drew one, which means that the Blues still top the table, with the Whites now snapping at their heals only one point behind and with a superior goal difference. All is still to play for.
Stewart W scored the winner for the Whites in the opening game and added another in the second game. Andy R scoring the other goal for the Whites in the second game.
Keith S, Andy Q, and John W scored for the Blues in their win over Maccabi B, with Bob D getting a rare goal in the 1 – 1 draw against Salcom B.
Well done to all the Relics players,
Whites:- Eddie, Pete Shev, John C, Tex, Stewart W, Keith H, And R
Blues:- Gaz, Tony G, Keith S, Bob D, John W, Graham W, Andy Q
Special mention for player of the day again, – Pat – who played in goal for Maccabi B and was outstanding, making some great saves in both their games.
Also special mention to John H, who played for Maccabi A and to referee Keiran.
