Bury Relics made their debut in the GMWFL Martin Dawson trophy. Relics finished fourth in Group B to qualify for the Plate semi final which they lost on penalties.

The Relics enjoyed an evening with Bury FC Women Vets for some soccercise and walking football friendlies at Holcombe Brook Primary School. Fun, fitness, and football for all, strengthening the community bond and getting the word out about walking football.

Walking Football Update from Bury FC
The new year has seen continued growth in numbers at our walking football sessions, run in partnership with Bury SAPAS. The walking football sessions are headed up on the SAPAS side by former Bury FC player Lee Buggie, who has worked tirelessly to continue to grow and develop the session along with his army of volunteers.

Walking Football: Relics score with new sponsorship deal
Walking Football sessions for Bury’s over-50s are leading to success both on and off the pitch.
Open to all, the sessions take place at Castle Leisure Centre in Bury every Tuesday from 11.15am to noon and are proving a big hit with residents.
A number of the regular players formed a team called Bury Relics to compete in Greater Manchester’s walking football league. They have now received a boost from Rock Healthcare, who have sponsored a full kit that both the 60-plus and 65-plus sides will wear.
