England Debut for Graham

Huge congratulations to Relics stalwart, Graham Walton, who made his debut for the England Walking Football team at the Maureen Evans International Memorial Cup, which was held at the Neath sports centre, on Sunday 24th August 2025. There were 3 age categories: 60s -65s-70s and he played for the Over 70’s in a triangular competition against Wales and Ireland.

Each team played twice against each other and England won the 70s Tournament after their two draws against Wales and two wins against Ireland was followed by Ireland beating Wales in their last game. Unusually, Graham didn’t score but hit the post twice and laid on 2 goals. When asked about the experience the master of understatement said “it was a good day played with and against some good footballers”.
