The Relics over 60’s whites were hoping to pull themselves up from 4th in the table following last month’s fixtures, and despite 4 excellent performances the Relics couldn’t improve on 4th place.

Panthers 0 Relics 1
The Relics started strongly and had the first chance with Kev A firing over the bar.
Relics continued to press with Ian McC having a good couple of efforts,
The Relics pressure was starting to tell, with a couple of minutes left the Panthers reached the 4 foul limit conceeding a penalty to the Relics. Ian McC scored from the spot to seal the victory for the Relics,
Goalkeeper Gaz coming off at the end complaining he had nothing to do.
Rochdale 1 Relics 1
Relics applied the early pressure with a shot from GW just wide of the right hand post. This was a tough game with Rochdale man marking and not giving the Relics players an inch, and went ahead following a well struck penalty. Relics fought back with the Rochdale keeper a bit fortunate getting in the way of shots from Kev B but making a good finger tip save with another shot from Kev B. The Relics pressure was rewarded when a smart back heal from GW to Ian McC on the edge of the Rochdale area was slotted past the keeper by Ian giving the Relics a well earned point.


Corinthians 1 Relics. 1
3rd game of the day was against Corinthians, always a tough game and a long standing rivalry.
No change with this encounter, Relics keeper Gaz having to make a couple of excellent saves, one was tipped onto the bar and bounced along the bar and out of play. The Relics went ahead due to to Corinthians lack of discipline with a 4-foul penalty for the Relics put away with style by Ian McC.
Corinthians fought back putting Relics keeper Gaz under pressure with some good attempts. Late in the game the Relics gave away a four foul penalty themselves, with Gaz having no chance with the spot kick
Winstanley 2 Relics 1The Relics were unorganised at the start of the final game of the day and Winstanley took advantage with 2 well struck powerful shots giving Gaz no chance.
The Relics regained their composure putting pressure on Winstanley who seemed to lose their confidence.
The Relics pulled one back when a corner from Ian McC found Graham W who scored with an impressive finish.
